YANGUI

Yangui é uma espécie de carta ancestral em formato imersivo, onde são discutidas cosmo-percepções afrobrasileiras, reiterando a elementaridade tecnológica de assuntos e dispositivos entre-temporais que pensam a formação e construção de uma identidade a partir dos contos da diáspora africana. Uma ritualidade figurativa que evoca sons do passado e sons do futuro definindo um plano sonoro do agora.

PORTALS

Portals is a 1:51 minutes acousmatic piece by composer Pedro Caiado. Inspired by the works of Richard Devine in his “Creatures”EP,

“Portals” explores sound textures, densities over the form and movement on the stereo field. The piece has one main section and a coda, during the first one the piece evolves as sine-like tones sporadicly come into and out of scene while a multitude of sonic objects ,each with a different implied masses, sizes and materials hover and cross the sonic landscape. This sections finishes as the sounds suddenly dissolve, silence follows and then the coda section begins, a 30 seconds noisy crescendo with spatialized staccato attacks that ends suddenly at its climax. The piece was done in its entirety using sounds created with the MakeNoise modular synthesizer that were then, with a plate reverb simulation and filtering, shaped in the form of the piece.

TRANSMIGRATION

Transmigration is a 1:38 minute acousmatic piece by composer Pedro Sodré. The sounds were realized using Csound generative instruments and a 555 based circuit bent synthesizer.

The piece was inspired by Penderecki’s and Richard Devine’s work. Throughout the unfolding of the piece synthetic tones presented with glissandos or with short duration with a percussive quality envelop are superimposed on top of string like grains and metallic like scrapping (done with waveguides).

Dealing with the empirical situation of the built instruments, a certain type of respect to way the sounds captured from the built synthesizer and the built algorithms manifest as a type of rawness. The sonic and compositional gestures points toward actions with non-programmatic unfolding and a general sense of navigating the unexpected.

"Ayanami, Why Do You Pilot Your Eva?" is a 3.. long acousmatic composition by composer Pedro Sodré. The piece was realized by processing a short sample of "Ayanami, Why Do You Pilot Your Eva?". The piece portraits a post-apocalyptic sound scape, and its abstract narrative evolves through the use of several different spectral processors.

Gyro Sound is an Immersive Experience in which dancers shape music and soundscape through gestures created with the body. The interactive music system allows the users to interact with the soundscape in a spatialize audio environment using data from their phone's gyroscope sensors.

Cutter, 2020 materializes in the form of a raw mechanical system an exploration of the performance, materials, colors, sound and textures of the ASMR video format. How does media development that is necessarily associated to our multisensorial perception apparatus responds to the lack of tactile, olfactory, gustatory and auditory stimuli in our current digital environment? As a work, the perpetual cutting gesture produced by associating an Arudino controlled step motor to a plastic knife is designed to be experienced in video or by sharing a conventional space with the contraption as it cuts through the pieces of Kinect Sand that get positioned in the acrilic board. Sonically, the sounds captured as the system functions associate the presence of the small mechanical engine with the characteristic crisp and granular sounds of the viral cutting videos.

AURA

"Aura": As part of an exploration on gesture, physically informed models, embedded processors and traditional healing perspectives Aura takes the form of a wand-like self-contained system in which the user uses physical movement to excite a virtual resonating body of a Singing Bowl. Running in the Bela embedded processor, Pure Data receives the values for the x, y and z axis of the accelerometer that Is connect to the beagle board. PD then processes, and sends the values into the Csound6~ external. The sensor data is then used as the envelope of a pink noise signal which is being employed as an excitator of a physically inspired model of a Tibetan singing bowl running inside of Csound.

2020 CERIMONIAL ROSABEGE é um evento de transformação energética viabilizada em áudio e imagem. Ao longo do rito, estados afetivos previamente desenhados pelo grupo no formato de linha do tempo são agenciados pelas performances, improvisos sonoros, canções e composição de arquitetura/ambiente em 3D. Cada área representa uma posição de mente, nessa cenografia de sonho, os personagens se relacionam com os ecossistemas virtuais, especulando designs futuristas de interaçōes tecnoxâmanicas. No âmbito da produção, as elaborações sonoras de cada integrante, marcadas fortemente pelo improviso, foram capturadas em som e vídeo uma após a outra no formato plano sequência, de modo a comprometer da menor forma possível o fluxo orgânico das instaurações de aura que se desenrolavam ao vivo. Em 2020 CERIMONIAL,as construções sônicoafetivas espontâneas realizadas em voz, instrumentos elétricos e eletrônicos morfam em composições do álbum IMAGEM sumonando estados de espírito enquanto os espaço 3D através das cores, formas, materiais, também apontam para o mesmo desenho de processos de emanação energética ao longo tempo.
